pattern play day 1

Wohoo, the latest Online Card Class has started! Pattern Play is aimed at making the most of our patterned paper stash :) I took some of the tips from yesterday's three class designers and created a card with lots of patterned paper!

I aimed to combine Kristina's tip of using a bolder pattern (floral) with a medium pattern (green) and a small/neutral pattern (grey) along with Jennifer's tip to use dimensional adhesive to help separate overlapping patterns and finally Amber's tip to use negative die cutting to create space for the patterns to breath. There were lots of great tips in the videos which will hopefully help me to use more patterns in my future projects :)

My card photo today was lit with natural light bouncing off the snow! Yep more snow here again today. Come on spring - it's time you made an appearance!

Keeping it brief but will try to be back during the week with more pattern fun :)

Supplies: Stamps - Simon Says Stamp tilted banner sayings; Ink - Versamark; Card - Neenah solar white, Stampin' Up glitter card, Clear & Simple Stamps i steel got it; Paper - My Mind's Eye collectable memorable, on the bright side two; Dies - Simon Says Stamp tilted banners s157, large hearts s143, holiday shapes s131, Spellbinders circles; Embossing Powder - Hero Arts white

Love this card. The way you combined all three of their techniques is sheer genius, and so you! I most love the way you just used the brighter colored patterns under the focal point. Wow!
