case study challenge 93

It's Thursday and here on the blog that mean's it's time for another CASE study challenge! I am so pleased this month has 5 Thursdays in it as that means we have one last chance for a beautiful card from Aga. How about this splatterific card to get you inspired! While we are on the subject is it spatter or splatter? Or is it a UK/US thing. I'm tempted to use splatter but I see spatter more often. They seem to mean the same thing to me! Anyway, here's Aga's card

Oh  there's so much to CASE in this card! I kept most of the details - splatter background, flower, circle die with sentiment, mat layer ...... Here's my card:

I'm not too good with the spattering/misting so cheated with a Stampin' Up stamp which did the job for me LOL.

I'm going to link this card up to Hero Arts monthly challenge - the colour aspect and to Moxie's spatter challenge too :)

Please pop by the rest of the crew to see their take on Aga's card
Supplies: Stamps – Hero Arts hooray, my happy, poinsettia & berries, Stampin’ Up french folliage; Inks – Versafine onyx black, Amuse bermuda, grass, Hero Arts butter bar; Die – Spellbinders circles

birthday wishes

Hello! I hope you are having a lovely weekend :) I thought I’d pop in today to share a little card and gift bag I put together. Here let me show you first and then I will get chatting!

LIDbow gift

I really wanted to have a go at cutting the new Lil’ Inker bows from felt. I had some lovely thick cream felt from Papertrey Ink that just fit the bill perfectly. I tied a wooden button around the bow with some rustic twine and loved the result! I then remembered the little jute gift bag I had stashed away - what a lovely combination they made. I added a sentiment flag stamped with the “to/from” out of the flags and tags stamp set. I was so happy with this rustic little gift bag but it needed a card to go with it. So I put together another bow and got out some kraft card. I embossed the kraft to give a texture which in my mind fitted with the jute bag. I mounted the kraft onto some card and popped it up on the card base with dimensionals, added the bow and stamped a sentiment from flags and tags to finish it off.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Supplies: Stamps – Lil’ Inker Designs flags and tags; Ink – Versacolor pinecone; Card – Stampin’ Up confetti white, crumb cake; Dies'- Lil’ Inker Designs small bow, sentiment flag; Embossing folder – Lifestyle Crafts dainty; Twine – Stampin’ Up; Felt – Papertrey Ink; Buttons

TGIF! And of course Fridays mean CAS-ual Fridays! This week we are going all out for men! Create a card or project with a masculine theme that uses patterned paper.

This week our wonderful sponsors are Gina K. Designs and we got the amazing and sooooooo appropriately named Casual Friday papers to play with!

3 in logo- GKD

Casual-Friday-Cover-Sheet

These papers are gorgeous and the patterns are, well, so manly! I always love a few stripes, so combined the distressed yellow striped paper with some traditional masculine images and came up with this.

Not my usual eh? No white in sight! But even though this card doesn't look like my normal style the same design elements are there just more grungy! You know one of the things I love most about this – that little knotted, frayed piece of twine – it came off a shop label! The shop is one of those trendy, surfy sort and the label was all distressed with this twine attaching it and I just thought it was perfect for this card. I do like a bit of recycling!

I don’t think I’m alone when I say that I make more cards for females than males but the men in our life need a card too so I hope you can join us this week - lets show them some love! Here’s the rest of the crew in case you need a bit more inspiration:

case study challenge 92

Are you ready for another wonderful CASE study challenge from Aga? I certainly am! Feast your eyes:

I was intrigued by the texture in the monogram of Aga's card and searched my craft room for something different to my normal media. I found some micro beads stashed away that hadn't seen the light of day since I started crafting! Here's my take on Aga's card:

I die cut the 21 from white card and laid on top of another piece of white card that I had covered in scortape. Then it was a case of trying to get those micro beads to behave themselves! They go everywhere and are totally uncontrollable! Eventually I managed to tame a few to stick within the 21 die cuts :)

Next up I tried something a little more traditional and applied glitter to the die cut negative.

Both these cards were fun if a little messy to make LOL!

I’d love to see your take on Aga’s card :) Click on the links below to pop by the rest of the Design Team to see what they made:

Supplies: Stamps – Papertrey Ink birthday bash sentiments; Versafine onyx black, Dies – Papertrey Ink by the numbers

Teal card – Card – Stampin’ Up island indigo; micro beads; Pink rhinestones

Orange card – Card – Papertrey Ink summer sunrise; glitter; Rhinestones – Stampin’ Up

there she goes sneak peek day 2

Here we are on day TWO of this month's peeks from There She Goes, and we are bringing you a set by our fearless leader, Jessica Knutsen!!

Excuse me, I MUSTACHE you a question….is this NOT the CUTEST set?! Mustache’s, and puns about mustaches (lol), are all the rage right now and we couldn’t help but add a little TSG flare to this FABULOUS trend! The possibilities, and uses, for this set are endless…and just ENTIRELY too funny!

Flava Sava is a 4x4 set that includes a total of 14 stamps and will sell for $10.00.

My daughter’s piano teacher is fabulous and has great fun with the kids. Recently she had them collecting mustache points in their lessons to go towards a final award at the annual piano party. The party also had a mustache theme. So I knew I had to make something for this inspiring teacher with this fabulous stamp set. I used one of the punny sentiments and whipped up a simple notecard.

Then added two more.

Grouped them together.

And tied them up with a bit of twine.

Would you like to win the new Flava Sava stamp set? Here is what you need to do- visit the Trendsetter’s blogs that are participating in each of the blog hop challenges below and comment on their creations as you go. Ready? Set? GO!!!

Melyssa is at it again, and just in time for all your graduation needs! This stamp set is PERFECT for ANY grad, young or old!

ConGRADulations is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 17 stamps and will sell for $15.00.
I decided to go with a combination of patterned papers as a backdrop for a grouping of sentiment and images. Very simple but hopefully packs a punch. To me the graph and text papers tied in nicely with the theme of studying and education.

Here’s a close up – love the font on the sentiment! For the scroll I lightly coloured with my copics for some depth and then popped up on dimensionals. The hat is simply stamped, cut out and again popped up.

Would you like to win the new ConGRADulations stamp set? tsga - aim for the clouds

This is my second post today - please scroll down for my CAS-ual Fridays card :)

Hello folks :) It’s There She Goes Again week and if you haven’t popped by the shop yet you should as Aim for the Clouds, A Drink a Day and Life’s a Beach are all on sale! I chose Aim for the Clouds with today’s card and went white and CAS!

TSGclouds

To  keep some interest in there despite all the white, the die cuts are mounted with dimensional adhesive as is the white mat layer, I ran a glue pen around the edge of the clouds and dipped them into fine glitter then splodged and splattered stickles glitter glue on the base layer! I hope you can make out all that lovely sparkle!

Due to all the sploding and splattering that went on I’m going to pop this over to the Moxie Fab spatter challenge :)

Have a great weekend!

for your inspiration 30

This is my second post today. Please scroll down for my CASE study card.

Have a little look here:

Isn’t that picture just gorgeous! I bet we all would like to be there with the sun on our faces. Pulling you back to the here and now, we at For Your Inspiration are hoping the above picture gets your fingers itching to put ink to paper! It’s not going to be a big surprise when I say that it was the colours that inspired me! Those warm oranges and yellows with the black trees overlaid got me reaching for my ink pads and here’s what I came up with.

FYI30

I stamped the larger leaf in papaya and the smaller leaf in meyer lemon and then overlaid the black sentiment. A button with a flourish of twine finished it off.

I hope you can find the time to join us. Here’s the rest of the team for more inspiration:
Supplies: Stamps – Stampin’ Up french foliage, Hero Arts hooray; Inks – Amuse papaya, Martha Stewart meyer lemon, Versafine onyx black; button; twine
